Sorrel

It’s fun to explore the wide variety of greens out there. Red veined sorrel is a beautiful perennial green that is high in vitamin C. When picked in the baby green stage, it has the consistency of spinach with a hint of citrus.

We found seeds from MIgardener and are growing it for the first time at our #farmacy at Oskar Apiary & Gardens. It should overwinter well in our zone 5b garden and we’re looking forward to moving some of it into a cold frame for more winter greens. We like using it in mixed green salads as a beautiful accent and in smoothies for that extra Vitamin C.
